Gene Farris – Visions of the Future (Roy Davis Jr. Remix)
This was one of the tracks that got me into DJ’ing. I heard it on a DJ Dan mixtape called Beats 4 Freaks (I rocked the cassette mixtapes in my 1988 Lincoln Towncar when I was 18) and searched for this song on vinyl for years. Literally, I searched for years. I never found it. This was one of those that “got away”. Slipped right through my fingers.
It’s minimal and funky at the same time. Great dance track that carries a really infectious groove. Of all the filtered French-style house music, this is a timeless classic that any true house head recognizes.
