{"id":4074,"date":"2013-01-29T02:55:17","date_gmt":"2013-01-29T02:55:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.justcharlie.com\/?p=4074"},"modified":"2018-04-12T06:20:30","modified_gmt":"2018-04-12T06:20:30","slug":"dreams-of-coachella-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.justcharlie.com\/dreams-of-coachella-2013\/","title":{"rendered":"Dreams of Coachella 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright\" style=\"max-width:50%\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.justcharlie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/coachella2013.jpg\" alt=\"coachella2013\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Last year while on an 8,000 mile road trip I was lucky enough to attend the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Coachella_Valley_Music_and_Arts_Festival\">Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival<\/a>.\u00a0If you haven&#8217;t heard of Coachella, it&#8217;s a 3-day music festival that gathers hundreds of thousands of people in the California desert to see hundreds of bands and DJs, including headliners like Radiohead and Jay-Z.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As expected, it turned out to rank among the most profound musical experiences of my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lineup for the 2013 edition of Coachella has just been released and the headliners are The Stone Roses, Blur, Phoenix, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. As usual, it&#8217;s the performers beneath the surface that make the lineup truly remarkable. Although there are over a hundred, here are the ones that catch my eye in particular:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n    <li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Action_Bronson\">Action Bronson<\/a><\/li>\n    <li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_xx\">The XX<\/a><\/li>\n    <li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vampire_weekend\">Vampire Weekend<\/a><\/li>\n    <li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wu_Tang_Clan\">Wu-Tang Clan<\/a><\/li>\n    <li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tame_Impala\">Tame Impala<\/a><\/li>\n    <li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/How_to_Destroy_Angels_(band)\">How to Destroy Angels<\/a> (Trent Reznor)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Fingers crossed that I&#8217;m lucky enough to go to Coachella this year, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just for fun, here&#8217;s the program that I created for Coachella last year. Of the hundreds of artists on the lineup, these are the ones that I selected each day and did my best to attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Friday<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n    <li><a
