“Electrifying China” Documentary Trailer

Earlier this year some Dutch documentarians got in touch and did some research on the underground music scene in Chengdu. This is the trailer for their film, which is being first shown at Melkweg in Amsterdam on October 21st, 2016. I am looking forward to checking it out!

If you haven't already, check out the Chengdu Underground Vibes documentary which was released just a few months ago: Chengdu Underground Vibes

Song of the Day #200: Anvil

Lorn – Anvil

Lorn is a Milwaukee based electronic producer who signed with Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder label in 2009. This stupendously well produced music video includes the description:

The year 2100. In an effort to combat overpopulation, the postmortem social network "Anvil" is released and made mandatory to all. A fusion of both Japanese and Belgian comics inspirations and sensibilities, such as Ghost in the Shell, Akira or Peter & Schuiten's work. "Anvil" invites us on a journey through the eyes of a young woman in her final moments on earth.

Song #200

Well, this is it. I think I'm done with this project. It has lasted more than 6 years, starting with Beck's Deadweight (released almost exactly 20 years ago, in 1996 on Odelay). It has been a lot of fun to look back on these songs even now, which I'm sure will only become more interesting as more time passes.

I will create a page/post to list all of the songs soon. And then perhaps create a series of mixes to include all of the songs (which was the original idea when starting this project).
